Belladonna (Atropa belladonna) aka banewort, witches berry, sorcerer’s berry, deadly nightshade, death’s herb, devil’s cherries *Poison*
Feminine. Saturn. Water. Deities: Hecate, Bellona, Circe

Highly toxic. All parts of the plant are extremely poisonous. Encourages astral projection and produces visions, but belladonna is best avoided. A primary ingredient in flying ointments. Used in funeral rituals to aspurge the circle, helping the deceased to let go and move forward. Used to invoke Circe. Gather berries when they are ripe (around Samhain.) Store with onyx. Medicinally, it has been used as a sedative.

As every part of the plant is extremely poisonous, neither leaves, berries, nor root should be handled if there are any cuts or abrasions on the hands. The root is the most poisonous, the leaves and flowers less so, and the berries, except to children, least of all. It is said that an adult may eat two or three berries without injury, but dangerous symptoms appear if more are taken, and it is wiser not to attempt the experiment. Though so powerful in its action on the human body, the plant seems to affect some of the lower animals but little. Rabbits, sheep, goats and swine eat the leaves with impunity, and birds often eat the seeds without any apparent effect, but cats and dogs are very susceptible to the poison. — Grieve’s Modern Herbal

How To Make A Homemade Tincture

Here are easy instructions on how to make herbal or flower Tinctures. These are just a few quick guidelines to get you started. Once you are accustomed to the technique add more or less of your chosen ingredients.
Whether dried or fresh herbs and flowers are used is completely up to the practitioner. I use both and get great results every time.

What You Will Need to Make a Natural Herbal  Tincture

*Herbs or Flowers
*Vodka, distilled water or vinegar
*Mason Jar or any type of glass jar (even a jelly jar)
Always use glass NEVER plastic, plastic absorbs the fragrances

There are several items that you will need to make your own tinctures. First you need either dried or fresh herbs. Vodka at least 80 proof to cover the herbs (make a non-alcoholic tincture using distilled water, or vinegar. a vinegar tincture will have to be refrigerated). Mason jars with lids. Lastly, labels for the jars.

You will need 7-10 ounces of herbs for every quart of vodka, brandy or rum. I don’t measure, I just place enough herbs/flowers or both into a glass jar and pour just enough Vodka to cover it.

Put the lid tightly on the jar, place in a dark place area (such as back of a cabinet or closet) and shake 1-2 times a day for at least two weeks. When you are ready to use your plant based mixture, give it one final good shake and strain. I use panty hose to strain.

Alcohol based tinctures can last up to 5 years when prepared properly. I make my tinctures to prepare botanical perfume so I don’t worry about expiration.

If you reside with someone struggling with addiction. Please make a non-alcoholic tincture.

“Candle Colors and their meanings-Elemental Candle Colors and Meanings-VERY LONG LIST”

This candle color chart is to be used as a guide or a reference ONLY. This list is one of many. No list is more right or wrong than any other. Whatever color guide you choose to use is your personal preference.

FOR EXAMPLE: Green may NOT represent money to you, perhaps gold or silver represents money in your opinion. If that is the case then those are the  colors you should use in your candle magick. You must always feel comfortable with your magickal workings. DO NOT feel pressured to follow a list or anothers opinion. Follow your heart and what makes you comfortable.

White: truth, purity
Red: love, health, sex, strength
Green: money, luck, fertility

TO MAKE SOMEONE LEAVE YOU ALONE

This spell is intended to stop someone from harming or bothering you.

Some believe this should be performed during a waning moon.

On a piece of parchment paper, write down as much information as you know about the person you are wishing would leave you alone. You may know a little or you may know a lot (don’t stress about the amount of info) just make sure you are creating a vivid picture in your mind of the person as you write.

Now fill a small glass jar (like a baby food jar) with water-plain tap water is fine-and add 3 pinches of your choice of fresh or dry banishing herbs (aloe, anise, clover, basil, garlic, lilac, black pepper seeds, rosemary and sage are a few good choices)

Take the paper with the name on it and fold it three times.

Tie a black string/thread around the paper and drop it in the water. Some of the water may over flow and that’s ok.

Screw the lid on as tight as possible and bury it in a safe spot in your yard, flower box or garden.

When this person no longer poses a threat, un-bury your jar, pour the contents into the earth and recycle the jar.

What’s Magick? What’s A Spell? How to charge a Spell?

These are all good questions and there are many answers out there. This is a quick briefing on my opinion.

Magick (sometimes referred to as sorcery) is the practice of conscious manipulation (intentional change)  and/or suggestion to achieve a desired result. Influenced by religion, mysticism, occultism, science, and even psychology.

Spells in my opinion are also closely related to prayers.

Spells  employ various powers of the mind,  like creative visualization, positive thinking, and positive imaging. These methods help the spell caster create a mental picture so that he/she  can better relate with their intentions and form a clear and specific goal. These intentions are repeated according to a comfortable chosen method and combined with the infusion of will (will power). Calling upon deities, divine forces, ancestors, spirits etc. help many acheive their goals.

Many different things are used to help with visualization, such as numerology, moon phases, powers of herbs, oils, incense, candles, charms, amulets, tradition and much more.

Please feel free to list methods or anything else that helps you visualize and aids in your spell casting. Don’t be shy to ask questions. If I can not help I can direct you to a website or person who can.

Bright Blessings,
